  • Me:

Since you only print black and white you'll save yourself a lot of money in the end by spending the extra $100 and getting this Laser over that inkjet.

  • Customer:

Well this inkjet is only $99.

  • Me:

Right but you're spending almost the same amount of money on ink (11.99 + 29.97 = 41.96) as you would on toner (48.90), It WILL dry out, AND it's a fourth of the prints per cartridge. (Ink avg.350 prints) (Toner avg.1200 prints)

  • Customer Friend:

(looks at me with disapproving face) Toner dries out.

  • Me:

No it doesn't, it might cake a little, but it's a powder so if you shake it, it loosens back up.

  • Customer Friend:

(Avoids eye contact like he didn't hear me correct him)

  • Customer:

(turns to friend) Which one would you get.

  • Customer Friend:

I'd just get the inkjet cause it's cheaper.

  • Customer:

(turns back to me) I don't really need all that do I? (gesturing at printer I dragged from back room and held for duration of conversation)

  • Me:

THIS PRINTER (pats box on top) WILL SAVE YOU MONEY (rubs fingers together) THIS PRINTER (pats inkjet printer) HAS CHEAPER INK UP FRONT, BUT GETS LESS PRINTS, AND WILL DRY OUT.

  • Customer:

And that one is $199.99? (gesturing towards increasingly heavy laser printer)

  • Me:

    Yes

  • Customer:

Thanks anyways but I think we're gonna go with this one. (picks up small inkjet)

  • Me (Thinking to self):

hahahah...... oh. You're being serious right now aren't you?
